Loss Prevention Officer

Overall responsibility for several stores in an allocated in the region. Responsible for staff and work closely with other senior managers and department managers.

  • Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills, and the ability to motivate others and provide direction for staff.

  • Effective analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, peers, subordinates, guests, vendors, and corporate partners.
  • Ability to present a calm demeanor that deters others from engaging in disruptive conduct, while encouraging a positive interaction with guests.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents like training materials, spreadsheets, reports, and operating instructions.
  • Accurate cash handling skills and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret.
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible availability including daytime, evenings, weekends, and major holidays. Full availability for any shift, seven (6) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred.
  • Restaurant management or food service experience required.
  • Proficiency at all workstations in the lounge, including bar, food prep, POS system.
  • Complete knowledge of Joffrey’s menu, product preparation, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of all store equipment functions.
  • Prior experience with point-of-sale cash handling systems preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement or monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses.
  • Investigate known or suspected internal theft, external theft, or vendor fraud.
  • Conduct store audits to identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies.
  • Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, or access points to determine security risks.
  • Maintain documentation or reports on security-related incidents or investigations.
  • Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures for loss prevention, physical security, or risk management.
  • Perform covert surveillance of areas susceptible to loss, such loading docks, distribution centers, or  warehouses.
  • Prepare written reports on investigations.
  • Recommend new or improved processes or equipment to reduce risk exposure.
  • Train establishment personnel in loss prevention activities.
  • Verify proper functioning of physical security systems, such as closed-circuit televisions, alarms, sensor tag systems, or locks.
  • Conduct employee background investigations and review reports with operational or human resources managers.
  • Coordinate with risk management, human resources, or other departments to assist in company programs, investigations, or training.
  • Identify and report safety concerns to maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
  • Recommend methods to reduce potential financial fraud losses.
  • Respond to critical incidents, such as catastrophic events, violent weather, or civil disorders.
  • Working surveillance cam.
  • Conducting safety and loss prevention audits era controls.
